Big Stax 300 (Day 2): Final Break...Final Level

Players are going on their final break of the night, and when they return the blinds will be going up to 15,000/30,000/5,000.  The chip average of 1,300,000 is just over 43 big blinds, so the play is still going to be super deep the rest of the way out.

When the field is down to 27, the tournament floor will redraw those players, and the new seating assignments and chip counts will be posted.

Level 23 (12,000/24,000/4,000)
Players Remaining: 43

Mike Wang

Mike Wang won a monster pot right before break, as he flopped aces up and got all the chips in on the turn after Ilya Dyment made a worse aces up (A 10 > A 5).  It was easily the biggest pot of the tournament, as both players were in the top ten in chips.  Wang now has over 3,700,000, with his closest competitor almost one million chips behind.

Big Stax 300 (Day 2): Break Time

Players are going on a (15) minute break, and when play resumes the blinds in Level 23 will have gone up to 12,000/24,000/4,000.  The chip average at the moment amongst the remaining 47 players is 862,000.

Level 22 (Blinds 10,000/20,000/3,000)
Players Remaining: 47

After Deeneash Krishnanand opened the pot, both Charles Welch (small blind) and David Kim (big blind) called and the three would go to the flop.  The flop would run out  9 6 4 (rainbow), and both players would check to Deeneash.  Deeneash would c-bet, and after Welch folded, Kim would put in a check raise.  Krishnanand would three-bet all-in (Kim just had him covered), and David would make the call.  Kim's 6 9 > AA of Krishnanand, and would push 1,800,000 after winning the pot.

David Kim - 1,800,000
Deeneash Krishnanand - Eliminated

Big Stax 300 (Day 2): Kraut Finds Big Double

Level 22 (Blinds 10,000/20,000/3,000)
Players Remaining: 48

Alan Kraut (Doylestown, PA) was all-in for his last 255,000, and his pocket fives were in bad shape against A Q on an A J J flop.  The turn brought a miracle five, and Kraut would fade the river ace/jack to double up to 550,000.

Big Stax 300 (Day 2): True Story

Level 18 (Blinds 4,000/8,000/1,000)
Players Remaining: 124

Ryan Eriquezzo started the day with the 30,000 starting stack...this Tweet was from moments ago:

Big Stax 300 (Day 2): ITM Tweets

Level 18 (Blinds 4,000/8,000/1,000)
Players Remaining: 143

Big Stax 300 (Day 2): Bubble Has Burst

Level 18 (Blinds 4,000/8,000/1,000)
Players Remaining: 143

The bubble has burst very quietly, and with tables still spread in different areas of the poker room, the action of the fateful hand is not yet known.  Play is back to normal now after a short applause from the field, with the min cash bringing $611.

Big Stax 300 (Day 2): First Hand Back

Level 18 (Blinds 4,000/8,000/1,000)
Players Remaining: 143

Manh Nguyen just brought us to the stone bubble as his 33 > A x after a runout of A x x x 3, sending his opponent steaming out of the room.  Out of respect for that player his name was not sought out, but all tables are finishing their hands before the official hand-for-hand announcement is made.

Big Stax 300 (Day 2): Hand-For-Hand Coming Back

When players return from break in twelve minutes, the play will be hand-for-hand.  The field is two off the money, and after two eliminations a flurry of bustouts will surely occur.  All places will be posted on the live updates page as timely as possible.

Big Stax 300 (Day 2): Color Up Break

Players are going on their first break of the day, and will return in (15) minutes while the tournament floor colors off the pink (500) denomination chips.  Hand-for-hand play will commence shortly after players return.

Big Stax 300 (Day 2): Close To The Money

Level 17 (Blinds 3,000/6,000/1,000)
Players Remaining: 148

The field is only a handful of bustouts from reaching the money bubble, which has been quicker than ever seen in prior events.  Hand-for-hand play will begin when players are one from the money.

Big Stax 300 (Day 2): Taking Some Time

Level 17 (Blinds 3,000/6,000/1,000)
Players Remaining: 153

Ilya Dyment (Brooklyn, NY) was standing and thinking at Table 33, facing an all-in bet from Greg Fishberg (140,000).  Dyment said that he may fold kings pre, but then seemed to flip a switch, and made the call.  Ilya's KK > AK of Fishberg, and he's now up to 500,000, putting him top fifteen in the room at the moment.

Big Stax 300 (Day 2): Shultz Has Aces Cracked

Level 17 (Blinds 3,000/6,000/1,000)
Players Remaining: 161

Allison Schultz has made numerous deep runs in prior Big Stax events, usually grinding a below average stack into the money.  She was able to chip up going into Day 2, but ran into bad luck to get sent home:

Big Stax 300 (Day 2): Mirror Images

Level 17 (Blinds 3,000/6,000/1,000)
Players Remaining: 162

The was a situation brewing at Table 55, as Justin Liberto was faced with an all-in bet from Igor Skochilo (over 400,000).  Liberto had Igor covered, and showed AK before folding.  Igor had AK as well, and would be up against an opponent who was all-in before him (holding JJ).  David Kim said he had JJ as well (but folded pre).  So there were two AK's and to JJ's dealt in the hand, but only one of each that eventually tabled the hand.  Igor would have his opponent drawing dead after turning a king, and now has over 650,000.

Big Stax 300 (Day 2): Getting It In Good, Running Out Bad

Level 17 (Blinds 3,000/6,000/1,000)
Total Entries: 174

Antonio Walker (Willingboro, NJ) came into the day with 180,000, but was all-in against Steve Stahursky moments ago.  Walker's KK < JJ on the 8 3 5 J 5 runout, and Stahursky would chip up to 330,000.

Also eliminated shortly after Walker's hand took place was Parx tournament regular Asher Conniff (Brooklyn, NY).

Big Stax 300 (Day 2): Level 17 Starts

There is one minute remaining in Level 16, and the blinds will be going up to 3,000/6,000/1,000.  There are 189 players remaining in the field, making the chip average 214,000.  Tables are still breaking rapidly, with the money bubble arriving quicker than expected (if this pace continues).

Big Stax 300 (Day 2): Eriquezzo's Roller Coaster

Level 16 (Blinds 2,500/5,000/500)
Players Remaining: 189

After posting and running up his 30,000 starting stack to 150,000, Eriquezzo began to bleed back down to just below 100,000.  He was effectively all-in pre (with 5,000 remaining in his hand) against Gary Akerman, with Ryan dumping his remaining 5,000 in before the board was fully out.  The flop would be eight high, and Akerman would show 77.  Ryan turned over A 10, only seconds before the dealer would turn a 10, giving Eriquezzo the double to 220,000.

Big Stax 300 (Day 2): And Another One

Level 16 (Blinds 2,500/5,000/500)
Players Remaining: 189

Bob Brady (Southampton, PA) was one of the players to buy-in with six blinds in the last Big Stax 300, and ended up running it up.  This year he was able to bag chips (83,000) after grinding a short stack all day yesterday, but it didn't work out as planned this time around:

Big Stax 300 (Day 2): Payne-ful Exit

Level 16 (Blinds 2,500/5,000/500)
Players Remaining: 225

Antonio Payne (Hazlet, NJ) was coming off two great WSOPC scores, and bagged chips on his first bullet (Day 1A).  He was standing and watching intently as he was all-in and flipping versus Dawn Saddler.  Paynes 10 10 < K J or Saddler after Dawn spiked a jack on what was an eight high board.  Payne was left to collect his things, but wished his table mates good luck before leaving the tournament area:

Big Stax 300 (Day 2): Off To A Quick Start

Level 16 (Blinds 2,500/5,000/500)
Players Remaining: 225

The have been a number of bustouts to start the day, as players are dropping one per minute at the moment.  As mentioned earlier, Joe McKeehen was eliminated on the first hand of the day, while notable Joe Cappuccio  also busted quickly.

Ryan Eriquezzo (New Haven, CT) was one of the players to enter the tournament this morning with six blinds, after firing numerous bullets over the starting days.  Ryan was wavering whether to post or not (as new players have the option), and ended up posting and taking a hand.  Eriquezzo sat down with the 30,000 starting stack...he now has 150,000.

Big Stax 300 (Day 2): By The Numbers
